Helping people and communities, particularly those most vulnerable and in need of support, is an important part of what we do. The organisations we support work in the UK and around the world to have a transformative impact on the lives they touch.
Since 1965, Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT) has worked with thousands of people across east London who are in recovery from addiction and homelessness. In particular, the Trust works with those who have complex needs often including mental health issues and multiple addictions. SCT focuses on supporting people in recovery to rebuild their lives.
The Sackler Trust helps fund the continuing care programme, which focuses on personal development, education and training. The programme aims to help people continue their recovery, learn useful skills and build their self-confidence. Alongside this, SCT supports them to get involved in voluntary work, further education, work-placements and, ultimately, a paid job.
Amber addresses the needs of homeless, unemployed young people, providing temporary, safe places to live for up to 90 people at a time in three residential centres. They provide an environment for training and other activities that builds motivation, self-discipline and skills to help them move on from their pasts.
The Sackler Trust supports a programme of activities including workshops, exhibitions and talks to educate residents at each of the centres.
