GUIDELINES FOR APPLICANTS

To apply please provide a brief description of the project, which should total no more than two pages. More information will be requested if required. It will help the application to include:

If submitting an application for a time-dependent project your application should be sent at least six months in advance of the start of the project.

Please note that we have a small team and receive a large number of applications and so it can take some time to process and respond to enquiries.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHO CAN APPLY?

We make grants to other UK charities or organisations and entities established for charitable purposes. These are organisations which are registered with The Charity Commission for England and Wales, The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland, the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator, or are registered as a Community Interest Company, or are exempt from registration.

The Sackler Trust supports a wide range of organisations, focusing on:

WHAT ARE THE DEADLINES TO SUBMIT APPLICATIONS?

There are no deadlines for submission and the application will be reviewed at the next meeting of The Sackler Trust. The trustees meet quarterly.

HOW MUCH CAN I APPLY FOR?

There is no set amount, but please explain in the application the specific element of the project to be supported.

Grants can be awarded towards running costs, projects, equipment or capital developments. The work can be new, continuing or a one-off initiative.

CAN YOU REAPPLY?

Yes, however we would ask that you wait one year from payment of the final instalment of a grant, or from notification of an unsuccessful application. After this point you are welcome to submit a further application.

WILL I BE UPDATED ON PROGRESSION OF THE APPLICATION?

You will be updated when a decision has been made as to whether the application has been successful or not. You will also be updated if it has been deferred pending more discussion or further information.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO ASSESS THE APPLICATION?

This can vary according to the schedule for meetings of The Sackler Trust.

WILL THERE BE A VISIT TO MY ORGANISATION/PROJECT AFTER I APPLY?

These will be arranged with prior discussion, if required.

DO YOU GIVE MULTI-YEAR GRANTS?

Yes, multi-year grants are considered.

CAN INDIVIDUALS APPLY?

Our focus is on supporting charitable institutions and organisations and not individuals.

WHAT GEOGRAPHICAL AREAS DO YOU COVER?

The Sackler Trust has a specific focus on the UK but is also active globally.
